Project for the enhancement of the ancient village of Staiti near the Reggio Calabria City – ITALY, represented with 18 terracotta bas-reliefs by sculptors Francesco and Fortunato Violi.

The 18 refractory terracotta bas-reliefs, placed on the walls of the village, are 140 x 130 cm in size, of which a majestic 300 x 300 cm represents the famous church of Santa Maria di Tridetti in Staiti. They are characterized by scenes that together contain over 400 figures that animate the chosen stories, thus providing a frame for the 18 architectures of the most important Byzantine basilicas identified in the Calabrian territory.

The project promoted by the Municipality of Staiti with the precious support of the National Park Authority of Aspromonte, has been developed by the cultural association Lyriks with the curatorship of the set designer Nino Cannatà, who has also filmed all the phases of production up to the setting up of the bas-reliefs in the streets of the village, and has also taken care of the graphic design of the 18 information panels, with texts in the Italian, English and Greek versions of Calabria.
